Programs were evaluated over a three-day period in December. Please come to our FEBRUARY 16 IPAC meeting to hear a summary of findings that will be presented by superintendent Matt D’Andrea.IPAC-21617-flyer-engl
The school district is conducting an evaluation of certain Special Education Shared Services this month — including Project Headway, Bridge, and Social Skills programs. The IPAC will be supporting parents by serving on subcommittee evaluation, and meeting with the evaluator to represent ongoing topical concerns collected during IPAC meetings.
If you are interested in sharing your input with the evaluator, he will be on-island and available the following times and days in order to speak with you. The times are intentionally spread out to accommodate schedules, so your child does not need to attend the school where meeting takes place.
WEDNESDAY, DEC. 14: 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Edgartown School
THURSDAY, DEC. 15: 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the West Tisbury School
FRIDAY, DEC. 16: 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. at the Edgartown School
From the Bailey Boyd Foundation:
FY16 Childcare Grant Provider Application!
We are happy to announce that the FY16 childcare grants are about to begin. The family applications will be mailed out today to those that were in the program this year, and to those that filled out a pre-application. The new applications (Family and Provider) will be available on the website: http://www.baileyboyd.com/childcare-programs/ next week.
The FY16 grants include West Tisbury this year, as well as Edgartown, Gosnold, Oak Bluffs and Tisbury (which includes Vineyard Haven).
The funds will be available on December 1st, so we hope to get as many families as we can approved and ready by then. Of course, we will continue to accept applications until the funds are depleted.
Since this is a new grant, everyone needs to apply again. We hope that you will reapply and join us again this year for this wonderful program.
We will accept the full applications for families going forward, not the one page Pre-Applications.
NOTE: The current FY15 grant runs through December 31, 2016, so any child with remaining funds will need to use them by then, when they will expire.
There will be an information session to help families with filling out the application, answering questions, or dropping off completed applications. You are also welcome to attend.
Childcare Provider and Parent Information Session:
Date: Thursday December 1st at 5:00pm – 6:00pm.
The meeting will be held at Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, 111 Edgartown Road, Vineyard Haven in the Childcare Building.
We look forward to working with you again this year!
